View from the Porch

View from the Park Place Porch

Preservation Williamsport is sponsoring a second "View from the Porch" as a fund raiser to support Rowley House Museum renovations. This year's event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 6, 2008.

The museum is open to the public for tours; more than 60 bus tours are scheduled for 2008.

The first View From the Porch held in the Fall of 2006 was a huge success with more than 100 attendees. This year's event will feature the porches of seven mansions that adorn Millionaires Row in Williamsport's Historic District.

Because of the lack of available space on the porches, tickets will be limited. Below is a list of venues and menus:

Pates & Pinot Noir

The Hiram Rhoads House, 522 West Fourth Street
Pimms Cup w/ smoked shad

The Rowley House Museum, 707 West Fourth Street

The Elias Deemer House, 711 West Fourth Street

This year's sponsors include the Williamsport Sun Gazette, Rainbow Carpet, Woodlands Bank, Citizens & Northern Bank, M&T Bank, Raup, Wiley & Mott Law Firm, Murray Motors, Finks Paint and Elion, Wayne & Grieco Law Firm.

Music will be provided at all locations and attendees will be transported between venues free of charge by two SVT Trolleys. Mayor Gabriel Campana and Council President Marlyne Whaley will be conductors.
