Victorian Christmas Schedule of Events
2008
Join us as we celebrate the
10th annual Victorian Christmas, “A Scottish Christmas,"
this year, slated for November 21, 22 and 23, 2008.
The Scottish theme will feature
bagpipers, Celtic music, a Scottish luncheon and kilt show throughout
the course of the celebration, with tours of lavishly decorated
homes, mansions, churches and museums throughout the city being
offered on November 22, 2008.
Preservation Williamsport's
Annual Meeting will be held November 20, 2008.
Victorian Christmas Activities
for children:
Time: 2:00 to 4:00

Location: Park Place, 800 W. Fourth St .
Children's events are sponsored
by the YWCA and Children's Discovery Workshop. Father Christmas
will be strolling through the Historic District.
Tours are planned of Victorian
and Historic Homes and Churches along West Fourth Street and in
the Vallamont Area. Other events also are planned at the Thomas
Taber Museum, the Peter Herdic Transportation Museum, the Durrwachter
House Women's Museum the Rowley House Museum.
All of the mansions are decorated by area florists and hosted by
guides in period dress. Musical entertainment is provided throughout
the afternoon at tour sites courtesy of a Pennsylvania Partners
on the Arts grant.
The Victorian Christmas event schedule includes:
Friday, Nov. 15, 2008, 5 to 7 p.m.
Candlelight Preview Tours of the Rowley House and Johnson Durrwachter House museums, Trinity Church, and a private home to be announced.
Kilt Show featuring men modeling family heritage clan tartans, with bagpipes, Celtic music and Robert Burns readings.

DuBoistown Garden Club Holiday House display at Pennington Lounge, Lycoming College
Beginning at 6 p.m., Santa Claus Parade in downtown Williamsport
Contra Dance with music by Black Bear Crossing and an exhibiting of the Highland Fling by Milissa Augustine Dance Studio
Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
